Keep your license current — and get ahead.
State CE requirements to stay licensed, plus the national specialty certifications that move journeymen up: EPA 608, NEC code updates, NFPA 70E, OSHA 10, OSHA 30. Where a state imposes no CE at all, we say so instead of pretending one exists.
How CE works
State CE rules vary widely. Some states require 4–16 hours of approved CE per renewal cycle (typically every 1–3 years); others impose no CE at all. The approved-provider list is state-specific — your state board publishes it.
Specialty certifications (EPA 608, NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA 10/30, NATE) are national, separate from state CE, and often required by employers regardless of state licensing.
