Scope of Work

The OE-2 Operating Stationary Engineer license authorizes the holder to perform operation work on heating systems with steam or water boilers exceeding 15 psig, or air conditioning/refrigeration systems with an aggregate of more than 50 horsepower (or kilowatt equivalency of 50 HP, or 200 pounds of refrigerant). 'Operation' includes manipulation, adjustment, control, and monitoring. The license also permits incidental maintenance directly on or adjacent to operating equipment (daily blow-downs, sample-and-adjust chemical treatment, fuel-filter cleaning, fuel-nozzle changes, strainer cleaning, and changing existing fuel types). It does NOT permit replacement or revisions to existing piping.
