Experience and Training

Exam
Required state exam. Connecticut does not maintain reciprocity agreements with other jurisdictions; out-of-state applicants apply as new candidates.
Incidental Maintenance Allowed
Per DCP, the operator license includes incidental maintenance directly on or adjacent to operating equipment (daily blow-downs, sample-and-adjust chemical treatment, fuel-filter cleaning, fuel-nozzle changes, strainer cleaning, and changing existing fuel types). It does NOT permit replacement or revisions to existing piping.
