Oregon Building Codes Division (BCD) — Elevator Safety ProgramScope of Work
An Oregon Limited Elevator Journeyman license authorizes an individual to perform electrical and mechanical installation, maintenance, and repair work on elevators regulated by the Building Codes Division. Oregon issues seven elevator-related individual credentials: Electrical Elevator Contractor, Elevator Contractor, Limited Elevator Journeyman, Limited Elevator Mechanic, Elevator Apprentice, Reciprocating Conveyor Mechanic, and Restricted Reciprocating Conveyor Mechanic. Experience and Training
Applicants must list and document experience related to the installation, alteration, repair, or maintenance of elevator-industry equipment in the work categories defined in OAR chapter 918, division 282 (https://secure.sos.state.or.us/oard/displayDivisionRules.action?selectedDivision=4167). Specific hour totals per credential must be verified by the editor against current OAR before public launch.
Exam
