Scope of Work

A Nebraska Elevator Mechanic license authorizes an individual to engage in the work of an elevator mechanic — installation, maintenance, and repair of elevators — under the regulatory authority of the Nebraska State Fire Marshal. Experience and Training

Applicants must have at least five (5) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of elevators as determined by the State Fire Marshal; OR certification as a qualified elevator inspector by an association accredited by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers; OR not less than five (5) years' journeyman experience in elevator installation, maintenance, and inspection.
