A Michigan Elevator Journeyperson license authorizes an individual to install, alter, service, repair, and maintain elevators and related conveyances regulated by LARA's Bureau of Construction Codes. Experience
Applicants must have three (3) years of continuous experience in the class(es) of elevator work for which they seek licensure. A degree in electrical or mechanical engineering may be substituted for one (1) year of experience. Source: Michigan LARA application page.
Exam
Written and oral examinations are required, administered by PSI Services at one of five Michigan testing centers six days a week. All examination fees are paid to PSI at the time of scheduling.
Renewal
