Scope of Work

An Indiana Elevator Mechanic license authorizes an individual to install, alter, service, repair, or maintain regulated lifting devices (elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, and similar conveyances) under Indiana Code Title 22, Article 15, Chapter 5 (Regulated Lifting Devices). Experience and Training

Applicants must qualify under one of three pathways: (1) hold an active elevator mechanic license from an equivalent state; (2) document at least three (3) years of work experience in the elevator industry — construction, maintenance, and service or repair; or (3) document at least eighteen (18) months of elevator-industry experience plus three (3) years in a related certified field. A written examination is required for applicants qualifying via the experience pathway.

Renewal
