State CE requirement

5 hours every 3 years

Journey Plumbers must complete 5 hours of LARA-approved continuing education each 3-year code update cycle; master plumbers and plumbing contractors must complete 6 hours per cycle. CE content must cover the current Michigan Plumbing Code (2021 edition, Part 7 of the state construction code, effective March 12, 2024) and any interim code updates. Providers and courses must be approved by the LARA Bureau of Construction Codes, Plumbing Division.
