Continuing education — electricians in Michigan

State CE requirement

MICHIGAN · electrician

15 hours every 3 years

Michigan's electrical continuing education is code-cycle driven rather than tied to every annual renewal. When LARA adopts a new edition of the NEC, licensed journeyman, master, and contractor electricians must complete 15 hours of LARA BCC-approved CE covering the adopted code changes. The 2023 NEC was adopted on March 12, 2024, and the 15-hour CE completion deadline was March 11, 2025. Course providers report completion directly to the Bureau of Construction Codes.
