State CE requirement

VIRGINIA · plumber

3 hours every 3 years

Under 18VAC50-30-120, Virginia tradesman licenses renew every three years and plumbers must complete three hours of continuing education per designation per cycle. The required topic is applicable building code changes, reflecting the edition of the International Plumbing Code currently adopted through the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code. Providers must be approved by the Board for Contractors; the current list is published by DPOR on the Tradesmen program page. Plumbers who also hold a gas fitter or HVAC designation owe an additional three CE hours per designation per cycle.
