Continuing education — electricians in Arizona

State CE requirement

ARIZONA · electrician

hours every 2 years

Arizona does not issue a state journeyman or master electrician license; electrical work is licensed at the contracting-entity level by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (AZ ROC) under ARS Title 32 Chapter 10. AZ ROC contractor licenses renew on a two-year cycle per ARS 32-1125, conditioned on a valid license bond and current fees rather than on a statewide continuing-education hour requirement. Local jurisdictions (for example, Phoenix, Tucson, Mesa) may run their own electrician registration or permit programs with separate CE or code-update obligations; verify with the municipality where work is performed. Confirm any classification-specific requirements on the AZ ROC website before each renewal.
