11 hours every 2 years

The Florida Electrical Contractors' Licensing Board requires 11 hours of approved continuing education each 2-year renewal cycle for both Certified and Registered electrical contractors. The mandated topic breakdown is 1 hour workers' compensation, 1 hour workplace safety, 1 hour business practices, 1 hour Florida Laws and Rules, 1 hour Florida Building Code advanced module, and 6 hours technical. Providers and courses must be pre-approved by the ECLB; instructors may earn hour-for-hour CE credit for the first presentation of an approved course. Licensees should verify current topic allocations on the DBPR ECLB continuing education page before each renewal.
