The South Dakota Electrical Commission, within the Department of Labor and Regulation, requires Journeyman and Master Electricians to complete approved continuing education each renewal, per Administrative Rules of South Dakota (ARSD) 20:43. Hours must include a National Electrical Code update course based on the edition currently adopted by South Dakota. Only commission-approved providers and courses count. Licensees renew annually.
