Continuing education — hvac technicians in Arizona

State CE requirement

ARIZONA · hvac

hours every 2 years

Arizona contractor licenses renew on a biennial cycle under A.R.S. 32-1123.01, and the Registrar of Contractors does not currently publish a statewide continuing-education hour requirement for C-39, R-39, or CR-39 license holders. Any technician who handles refrigerant must hold an EPA Section 608 certification (Type I, II, III, or Universal); per EPA, Section 608 credentials do not expire. Local jurisdictions may impose their own code-update or permit-privilege requirements separate from AZ ROC. Confirm current renewal and CE posture on the AZ ROC renewal page before relying on these values.

  • AZ ROC does not typically require HVAC CE — verify on the AZ ROC renewal page; EPA Section 608 is lifetime
