State CE requirement

24 hours every 2 years

Under SC Code of Regulations 8-150, Contractor's Licensing Board (CLB) specialty mechanical licensees, including electrical contractors, must complete 24 hours of approved continuing education per 2-year registration cycle. The reporting period runs July 1 to June 30 of each odd-numbered year. Hours cannot be carried over to the next cycle. One CE hour is awarded for each hour of active participation in a Board-approved course. Residential Specialty Electrical contractors licensed under the SC Residential Builders Commission are not currently required to complete CE to renew; confirm current RBC CE status before renewal.
