Continuing education — hvac technicians in Maine

State CE requirement

MAINE · hvac

hours every years

Maine does not license HVAC contractors at the state level, so there is no statewide HVAC continuing-education mandate. EPA Section 608 technician certification credentials do not expire once earned, per EPA (https://www.epa.gov/section608/section-608-technician-certification). Technicians who hold a Maine Fuel Board license for oil, solid-fuel, or propane and natural-gas work should confirm the Fuel Board's current CE rule at renewal (https://www.maine.gov/pfr/professionallicensing/professions/fuel-board). Municipal mechanical-permit rules may impose their own training expectations; verify with the local code-enforcement office.

Approved providers

  • EPA 608 credentials do not expire. Maine Fuel Board licenses have separate CE rules where applicable.
