Continuing education — hvac technicians in Idaho

State CE requirement

IDAHO · hvac

hours every 1 year

The Idaho Division of Building Safety (DBS) HVAC Bureau requires Journeyman and Contractor HVAC licensees to complete approved continuing education each renewal, per IDAPA 07.06. Hours must include mechanical and fuel-gas code update instruction based on the editions currently adopted by Idaho. Only DBS-approved providers and courses count. EPA Section 608 certification is separate from the state CE requirement and does not expire, per EPA (https://www.epa.gov/section608/section-608-technician-certification). Verify the current hour requirement, approved courses, and mechanical-code edition on Idaho DBS HVAC (https://dbs.idaho.gov/bureaus/hvac/licensing/) before each renewal. Source: Idaho DBS HVAC.

Approved providers

  • Idaho DBS HVAC Bureau approves CE providers; current list on the DBS HVAC page. EPA 608 is lifetime.
