Continuing education — hvac technicians in Indiana

State CE requirement

INDIANA · hvac

hours every years

Indiana does not license HVAC technicians or contractors at the state level, so there is no state-mandated HVAC continuing education requirement. HVAC licensing is handled at the municipal level; cities such as Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Evansville, South Bend, and Bloomington each set their own renewal cycles and continuing-education requirements (if any). Technicians who handle regulated refrigerants must hold current EPA Section 608 certification under 40 CFR Part 82 Subpart F; Section 608 itself does not require periodic CE but certificate holders should retain proof of certification and of any employer-required refresher training. Verify the current CE requirement with the city or county that issued the local license. Source: EPA Section 608 Technician Certification.
