0 hours every 2 years

California HVAC work is performed under the CSLB C-20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Contractor license, which renews every two years. As of the most recently published CSLB rules, the state board does not require continuing education hours for C-20 renewal. Individual technicians who work on electrical components above a low-voltage threshold may also need DIR electrician certification, which carries its own CE requirement. CE hours shown reflect the most recently published state requirement. Verify directly with CSLB before depending on this number for renewal planning.
