Continuing education — hvac technicians in Hawaii

State CE requirement

The Hawaii Contractors License Board does not publish a continuing-education requirement for C-52 Ventilating and Air Conditioning Contractor license renewal. The Board's biennial renewal (by September 30 of each even-numbered year) is conditioned on continuous workers' compensation and liability insurance coverage, not on CE hours. HVAC technicians handling regulated refrigerants must maintain federal EPA Section 608 certification under 40 CFR Part 82 Subpart F; that is a federal credential and is not replaced by state CE. Verify the Board's rules against the current HAR Title 16 Chapter 77 before relying on a zero-hour CE cycle.
