State CE requirement

8 hours every 2 years

Oregon HVAC work is regulated across two boards. HVAC contractor businesses register with the Construction Contractors Board (CCB), which requires continuing education tied to the two-year contractor renewal: residential contractors complete 3 hours of CCB laws, regulations, and business practices plus 5 or 13 hours of other approved courses depending on years licensed. Individual HVAC technicians who work on electrical components may also hold a Limited Energy Class A (LEA) or Class B (LEB) license issued by the Building Codes Division, each requiring 8 CE hours every three-year renewal cycle. CE hours shown reflect the residential CCB contractor figure. Verify the specific license class with the Oregon CCB and BCD before depending on this number for renewal planning.
