Continuing education — hvac technicians in Pennsylvania

State CE requirement

PENNSYLVANIA · hvac

hours every years

Pennsylvania has no statewide HVAC license, so there is no statewide HVAC continuing-education mandate. EPA Section 608 technician certification credentials do not expire once earned, per EPA (https://www.epa.gov/section608/section-608-technician-certification). Any continuing-education requirement is set by the municipality that issues the mechanical or HVAC license (e.g., Philadelphia L&I, Pittsburgh PLI) and by PA HIC renewal through the Attorney General (https://www.attorneygeneral.gov/protect-yourself/buyer-beware/home-improvement-consumer-protection/). Verify current CE rules with the specific issuing authority before renewal.

  • EPA 608 is held for life. Municipal mechanical-contractor licenses have their own rules.
