Continuing education — hvac technicians in New York

State CE requirement

NEW-YORK · hvac

hours every years

New York has no statewide HVAC license and therefore no statewide CE mandate. EPA Section 608 Technician Certification does not expire and has no continuing-education requirement, per EPA (https://www.epa.gov/section608/section-608-technician-certification). NYC DOB-issued credentials such as the Refrigerating System Operating Engineer and Oil Burner Installer have their own renewal and training rules set by DOB rule; confirm cycle length and any CE on the active DOB license page before renewal.

Approved providers

  • EPA 608 certification is held for life (no CE). Municipal licenses have their own CE rules.
