Missouri does not license HVAC technicians or contractors at the state level, so there is no state-mandated HVAC continuing education requirement. HVAC licensing is handled at the municipal level; CE requirements, renewal cycles, and approved-course lists, where they exist, are set by individual cities and counties (Kansas City, St. Louis, St. Louis County, Springfield, and others). Technicians who handle regulated refrigerants must hold current EPA Section 608 certification under 40 CFR Part 82 Subpart F; Section 608 itself does not require periodic CE but certificate holders should retain proof of certification and of any employer-required refresher training. Verify the current CE requirement with the city or county that issued the local license. Source: EPA Section 608 Technician Certification.
