6 hours every 2 years

Utah HVAC/mechanical contractor licenses (S350, S351, S354, S355), issued by the Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) under Utah Code 58-55-303, operate on a biennial renewal cycle expiring November 30 of even-numbered years. Utah Administrative Code R156-55a-303b requires 6 hours of continuing education each two-year renewal, with at least 3 hours in the "core" category (law, rule, business) and up to 3 additional hours in professional topics. Only DOPL-approved providers and courses count. EPA Section 608 credentials are separate from the state CE requirement and do not expire, per EPA (https://www.epa.gov/section608/section-608-technician-certification). Verify current CE structure and approved providers on DOPL Contracting (https://dopl.utah.gov/contracting/) before renewal.
